Afterschool Activities/Clubs

Why stay for After-School Enrichment and Intervention?

Youngstown Rayen Early College High School's after-school program stems from two main component: academic intervention, and academic enrichment. After the normal school day has ended, students have the opportunity to receive small group tutoring from teachers and YSU tutors. In addition to the academic intervention, students can participate in various enrichment groups such as: Destination Imagination, Sojourn to the Past, Quiz Bowl, and many more!

Fast Track To Success
General Information

Freshman and Sophomore students are offered the opportunity to get an early start on campus by taking select courses. This places students on the Fast Track to Success because they would normally not enroll in college courses until their Junior year.

Days / Times:

Courses—courses are generally offered two days a week, after YEC school hours. Specific days and times will vary based upon semester course offerings; however will be indicated at the time of application.

Advisement Sessions – in addition to the two day course, YEC will have a one day a week advisement session for students. This is part of the Fast Track program and is not negotiable.

Courses are taught on YSU’s Campus. Location will vary by course. The advisement sessions are held at YRECHS.

Transportation: The after-school busing will be available for transportation. Students will board the bus approximately 4:30 pm. For those students who are picked up by a parent/guardian after school, students will be available for pick up approximately 15 minutes after class ends to allow time to walk back to YRECHS  from their course location on campus.
